Hey, my darlings gosh, it's been a little while since I last recorded one of these and I've been itching to get back to you since returning from my winter break. Welcome to the Henny Flynn podcast, the space for deepening self-awareness with profound self-compassion. I'm Henny, I write, coach and speak about how exploring our inner world can transform how we experience our outer world, all founded on a bedrock of self-love. Settle in and listen and see where the episode takes you. Episode takes you, and so this is a short episode, a little bonus episode I'm not even going to give it a number just to really reconnect and to say hello and how are you? And I really hope that the year is beginning peacefully and powerfully and beautifully for you. I hope you've been able to find some space for rest and relaxation and I hope that, if you're in the same hemisphere as me, that this cold winter weather is manageable for you and if you're in warmer climes, I really hope that you are safe and that you are well. So there is so much coming up at the beginning of this year.
Speaker 1:I literally woke up this morning. I'm actually recording this on what is known as Blue Monday, but I woke up and if I had a tail, I would have been wagging it. I feel so enthused and energized and I've got so many beautiful plans and, at the same time, the first thing that I did was took Ronnie off for a walk. So I feel as though part of my learning has been to to not kind of rush into things but to enjoy the, the energy that is inspiring me, and to also make time to care for myself, and obviously that's such an important part of what we talk about here. So I'd love to just give you a bit of a heads up about some of the stuff that we've got going on. Um, I have lots of really gorgeous ideas for episodes of the podcast and, in fact, when I came back and I I looked at the notes that I'd written to myself, uh, when I was um away. So I've actually been away. Uh, for the last four weeks, I haven't simply been resting at home. We've been in Vietnam seeing our son, which has been amazing, and I'm sure I'll talk more about that or reference it, because I learned an enormous amount about myself while I was there. Um, but while I was away I, I was I felt like I was flooded with ideas and kept sending messages back to myself in the UK, if you see what I mean.
Speaker 1:And there are some really key themes. I think the one that really stands out for me as I'm sitting here talking with you now is the theme about being with. The theme about being with I actually think there's a book in what is happening around us, um, and there were layers and layers and layers within these which I ended up journaling on and uh, and and then inspired some episodes for the podcast. So you can expect those to come up, and I really think this concept of being with it touches on these themes of non-attachment, not clinging, surrender, you know all of the allowing, accepting. So many of these themes that really are part of how we are better able to manage our emotional regulation and mindfully pay attention to how we show up in the world and how we receive what shows up in the world for us. So, um, so, yes, you can expect much more on that. Um.
Speaker 1:There are also a couple of really lovely events coming up. We've already done one this year, um, which was all about using flow journaling for, uh, intention setting and manifesting, and in in the session, I shared some of the neuroscience that backs up the reason why these practices work. It's not just this sort of beautiful, soft kind of woo-woo-ness that often gets referred to. It's you know. There's something very tangible here about the reason why these kinds of practices can really support us with drawing in more of what we really desire in our lives now. That event was so popular but unfortunately had a bit of a technical hitch and if you were there you'll know what I'm referring to and it meant that we weren't able to share the recording afterwards. So, because of its popularity, we are rerunning the same event on the 13th of March, that's, thursday, the 13th of March, in the evening. So take a look at the links in this podcast episode, this bonus podcast episode, and you'll be able to book us based on that.
Speaker 1:And one of the reasons why I really love the fact that we're re-sharing it is because these practices of intention setting it's not just something that we do at the beginning of the year. Of course, you know we can set an intention for a challenging meeting or conversation that we've got coming up, or we can set an intention before we go away on a holiday, which is exactly what I did. And, surprise, surprise, my intention was be with, intention was be with um, and, and so I really love that. Actually, this is a demonstration of why these practices really help at any time of the year. And, of course, um, it's all about tapping into that inner wisdom that we can access when we flow journal. And then there's another finding flow event, another journaling event, uh, which is on the 6th of February. So that's not that far now, and this is all about creative inspiration and getting those blockers unblocked. So if you are a creative, if you're a writer, an artist, a movement practitioner, a builder, a maker, a shaper, whatever, or you love accessing that part of you but maybe sometimes feel as though, for whatever reason, it's a little bit hard to access, then please do come along to that. That's on the 6th of February and that's a lunchtime event and that's actually a slightly longer, 90 minute event to give us lots of spaciousness for reflection and really getting into this creative inspiration.
Speaker 1:The other thing very exciting that's happening on the 6th of February is my latest book. Letters of Love is going to be published, so it's already out for pre-orders and this is a journaling practice for wisdom and connection and, oh, honestly, it's so beautiful. Writing this book has just been the most enormous heart opener for me, and it's a little bit vulnerable to be sharing it, because I also share elements, extracts from some of my own letters of love that I have written, and the intention is that these are letters that we don't send and they are letters that we write to parts of ourselves, to parts of the natural world, to others, and it's really about using this practice of flow journaling to to get sort of deep inside. What are the things that we really really wish to say and and it, the book, guides you through the practice. So if that feels like, oh gosh, I wouldn't have a clue where to start, get hold of a copy of the book and it will help you with that.
Speaker 1:Um, and then what else do we have? Oh, yeah, two more exciting things. Honestly, so much in this these first few months. Um, there is, uh, our third. We're running our third mandala retreat in april, uh, this year. So that's with the beautiful wpu and myself. Now we only have four spaces for this event. It's a four night, five day immersive residential retreat where we really hold the most beautiful space for the deepest, most profound and glorious work. Um, it's very much designed around each individual, so, whatever it is that you most need to to explore, to sit with, to change, to transform whatever it might be. Um, it is a space that will enable you to do that, because you have two very experienced practitioners myself and debbie and of course, you've got three other really incredible souls on the journey with you.
Speaker 1:So the early bird for that ends on the 30th of january, and I'm really mindful because I've been away, I've not talked about it, so I'm really sorry because it only gives you 10 days to decide if you would really love to come. Well, 10 days if you want to get the early bird offer. So please do get in touch with me if that's something that feels like you would love to do it, and there's lots more information on the website about it or you can just send me a message and we can have a chat to see if it's the right thing for you. And then, lastly, I am going to be running another journaling quest now. The first time I did one of these was a couple of years ago and it's a two-week sort of shared journaling practice where, basically, I send out a journaling prompt once a day over 14 days. You'll also have access to my own journaling from that prompt, if that's useful for you, you can ignore it if it's not. And we have this incredible community. Even though each of us is writing individually in our own space in our own time, we still have this sense of connection with all of the many, many other people that participate in it. And the first time I did it was so gorgeous I had, so I was completely overwhelmed by the number of people who signed up for it and the comments that I received back from people as well.
Speaker 1:So I've decided that 2025 is the year to do this again. Now the intention is that I'm going to start running it from the end of February. That might not happen. It might end up being March, because there's so many other things going on and so many other things I want to do, but we will do it in this first quarter of this year. So, um, again, see the link in the show notes to sign up.
Speaker 1:Um, so I realize that's basically been a bit of a download of all the stuff. Uh, that's coming up just in the next few weeks, but hopefully there's something there that really resonates with you, and it would be gorgeous beyond gorgeous to have you as part of any one of those things. And also, of course, if you are now ready to do the next step, to do the deeper work, to do the one-to-one work with me, then know that I am here and you can reach out to me and I would be so honored to walk beside you for a while. This is a beautiful time to be accessing this part of you and I feel as though you know, having this conversation with you at this time in January rather than, you know, right in the sort of first kind of nascent days of the year, right in the sort of first kind of nascent days of the year it feels much healthier in many ways, because we've had a little bit of time to settle into what 2025 might look like, might hold for us, and my sense is that that then gives us an opportunity to see.
Speaker 1:Okay, actually, I think this is the year that I really want to do this deep work. So just reach out to me, henny, at hennyflinncouk and obviously you can take a look at the website hennyflinncouk and just see a little bit more about what it might be like to work together. Um, we will have a really informal conversation, um, to help you understand, you know, what approach might be the right one for you and whether I'm the right person for you to work with and whether you're the right person for me to work with. Of course, you know this is. We are two adults meeting together and determining, you know, how best we can work together in order to support you. So that's the end of this and I am so glad to be back, and the next proper episode will be out this weekend. Okay, take care, my darlings and I send you a hug and a wave. Thank you, thank you.
